We assist one another on our entrepreneurial journeys through three things: education, skills development, and business referrals.
Members take time to understand how one another works, who each business serves, and what a genuinely useful introduction looks like.
The approach
Confidence before introductions.
A referral carries someone else's reputation with it. The group is designed to make those introductions more thoughtful.
- 01Learn the business. Members explain the work they do, the problems they solve, and the people they help.
- 02Build practical skill. Meetings include education and discussion members can apply to their own businesses.
- 03Make the right introduction. Referrals are more useful when they come from real understanding rather than a name exchange.

- What is Forest City Allies?
- Forest City Allies is an independent business referral network in London, Ontario. Business owners and business development specialists meet to help one another through education, skills development and business referrals. Each business category has one member.
- When and where does Forest City Allies meet?
- Every other Wednesday at 8:30 AM, in person, usually at the Idlewyld Inn & Spa, 36 Grand Ave, London, ON N6C 1K8. From time to time the group meets at a member's business location, so contact the group ahead of time to confirm the venue.
- Can I attend a meeting online?
- No. Meetings are held face to face and there is no virtual option.
- What happens at a meeting?
- Each meeting has an educational theme in business management, salesmanship, marketing or customer service, a member spotlight where one member explains who they serve and what a strong referral looks like, and time for members to share relevant business introductions.
- How do I join Forest City Allies?
- Request meeting details through the form on the Join page and visit as a guest. Guests are welcome for up to two meetings. To continue after that, submit a membership application; every member reviews it together. Each business category has a single seat.
